The removal of excess skin and medial fat bulges is termed a blepharoplasty. Elevation of the eyebrows is called a browlift. Upper lid blepharoplasty is relatively a straightforward procedure where the incision is placed in the eyelid crease so it is inconspicuous after healing. The incision is carried slightly beyond the crease laterally to correct “hooding” of the lid skin. The surgery can be completed under local anesthesia with IV sedation (or not) and monitoring. Sutures are removed in 5 days and make-up can be applied resuming normal activities.
